That'll be five bux...

So it's Sunday morning...I awakened around 9 and picked up a book and starting reading while eating kettle corn for breakfast. Not very healthy I know, but it's good...kinda sweet...kinda salty...

I'm so tired all day yesterday I was in a Dorney Park, an amusement and water park in Allentown, PA. I went with people from work who love things like that...I got on 4 water rides and that was it. It's amazing how many people pay to be scared and thrilled half out of their minds....hence allowing them to think it's ok to spend $4.25 on a bottle of water. Find the irony in that...a $5 bottle of water in a water park. It's sad really. There are countries in this world where there's no running water or their water isn't clean enough to drink and here we are splashing around in it for fun...as we whiz down and water slide...and charging outrageous prices for a .5L bottle.

I sat amazed as I watched a two employees of the theme park get people invovled in their carnival-like game of guessing. The two guys lured people in by telling them for $5 they would try to guess their age within 2 yrs...their weight within 2 lbs, or their birthday within 2 months. And if the conductor of the game was wrong the player would win a prize of his choice. Everyone who came up to play this game left with a prize, but then I realized that was the point. It really didn't matter if they lose because the game is $5 point-blank, period. There was aleast 10 people standing around this game thru out the whole time. And the two guys would be way off with guessing...just to trick these people into thinking they were winning something...but they were actually just paying $5 for a lowsy stuffed animal that prolly on cost a couple pennies to make.

Everyone rememeber Darrin's Dance Grooves...?? He was supposedly a huge celebrity dance cheographer and if you didn't know how to dance he was there to save you the embarrassment and teach you how to pop and lock your way to popularity with his instructional video. Now he's in movies and most recently played in Stomp the Yard...(which I totally forgot about til right now). Well anyway, he was in the park yesterday too, with his wife and two kids...he's wife is also an actress...Evelyn Henson. I did not speak, I did not inquire about his career...or his celebrity because, ok yea...it was cool seeing him and being one of the few who recognize him, but I didn't really care. I would much rather be the person that allows him to just have fun with his family, he was buying his kids ice cream...he was really sweet with them. They woman in frotn of me did ask the obvious question..."Aren't you the dance grooves guy?" and he gave her a rather distreet nod and focused his attention back to his kids. I'm sure he was thinking..."...I did that about 6 years ago damn I've been in much more now" My thing is celebrities are people two and they don't need to be bothered with our weak interviews...I would much rather ask questions that i'm really interested in knowing...actually be able to sit down with them and chat...I don't know that's just me..
